How to clean a fountain pen

What you need:
・Fountain pen
・Tissues or soft, clean cloth
・Cup filled with water

Converter fountain pen

Step 1: Rinse

Remove the barrel. With the converter attached, immerse the nib in water and fill and empty the converter until it is clean.
If ink has dried out on the nib, soak in a cup of water overnight to a day.

Step 2: Dry

Dry the nib with a soft, clean cloth.

Cartridge fountain pen

Step 1: Disassemble

Remove the barrel and pull out the cartridge.

Step 2: Rinse

Flush the nib under running water.
If ink has dried out on the nib, soak in a cup of water overnight to a day.

Step 3: Dry

Dry the nib with a soft, clean cloth.

Tip

Kakimori inks are pigment inks. Regular use of your pen is recommended, as pigment inks are harder to clean with water if left to dry out.
