This pine species is native to northern Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu. Wood high in oil content is known as koematsu and used in traditional crafts.

A handmade nib holder by woodworking artist Toshimasa Kawamura. Each piece is carefully crafted from his collection of rare timber varieties, gathered over many years from around the world. We hope you’ll find a favourite among them.

The holder features a Kakimori original nib mount that offers exceptional durability and is compatible not only with our nibs but also those from other brands. Enjoy pairing it with your favourite nibs.

Toshimasa Kawamura

A woodworking artist based in Ichinomiya, Aichi Prefecture, Kawamura collects rare and distinctive woods from Japan and around the world to craft a range of designs, including stationery, using his wood lathe.
