Y.&Sons is a specialty shop and designer of men’s kimono offering a bespoke tailoring service. Dressing in kimono is an art that takes time and practice, and the brand has reimagined the traditional garment as creative and fashion-forward attire for mindful daily wear. Enjoy a selection of fine kimono fabrics in this 2023 limited collaboration edition.

The fabric is made in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka prefecture, a region known for its yukata production. The appearance of traditional sashiko hand stitching is recreated by machine weaving using heavyweight yarn. The crisp linen is pleasing to the touch and well suited to a notebook.

Writing with pen and ink; taking the time to dress in kimono. Time-consuming pursuits are often overlooked in our busy lives. In this collaboration, Kakimori and Y.&Sons share our mutual love of such slow moments. When we met Y.&Sons Kanda staff dressed in kimono with our pens and notebooks in hand, it struck us how well the traditional garment and writing tools complement each other. The polished retail space and hearing the stories behind the carefully curated fabrics affirmed our own attitude towards craftsmanship. We’re very proud of these hardcover notebooks.
