We are delighted to welcome Haibara to our pop-up event space.

Founded in 1806, Haibara is a long-established washi specialist shop. Since first opening its doors, its signature gampi paper has garnered a loyal following among writers and artists for its smooth texture, ideal for sumi (Japanese ink). Its washi was exhibited at the Vienna World's Fair and the Paris Exposition, where it received commendations. During the early days of Japan’s postal service, it produced official postcards and ruled letter stationery, helping to shape the country’s letter-writing culture.

Today, Haibara continues to offer fine washi from across Japan, while preserving traditional techniques including woodblock-printed kinpu (money envelopes) and writing paper.

While honouring its heritage, the brand celebrates a contemporary lifestyle enriched by washi through its finely crafted paper goods, ranging from quality washi to woodblock-printed kinpu and uniquely designed chiyogami (decorative paper).

For this pop-up, we’ve curated a selection of letter stationery, trays and other accessories featuring Haibara’s beautifully adorned chiyogami.
We invite you to discover the warmth and charm of Haibara’s washi designs in person.
