Our first exhibition for 2023 opens on Friday, 13 January.
Korean stationery brand Toolpress (@toolpress_and) is known for its imaginative designs and attention to detail, and has been stocked at Kakimori since our early days. Toolpress specialises in letterpress printing which requires precision, time and skill to print in multiple colours.
The exhibition and shopping event features designs on hanji , a traditional Korean handmade paper. Like Japanese washi paper, hanji is handcrafted by artisans in Korea using traditional techniques.
The soft yet durable papers are silk-screen and letterpress printed by Toolpress with vibrant patterns inspired by nature, a constant source of inspiration for the brand. The designs are sweet yet striking and evoke a sense of nostalgia. Hanji wrapping papers, postcards and other items will be available for sale during the exhibition.
Toolpress works exclusively with hand printing processes. Come and enjoy a taste of tradition and artisanship.
